Owner, Dances Organizer

I started dancing in 2007 with Adam Sheltz and Naomi Boswell, who immediately got me hooked. I regularly went dancing at Loafers, the areas lindy hop hot spot at the time, and traveled to regional workshops and exchanges such as DC’s Big Big Event, Ashville’s Sugar Foot Stomp and Lindy Focus, and Atlanta’s Swing and Soul and Southern Belle. Lindy hop is my dance. I also dance Tango, Blues, and Balboa.
I believe it is important to support the things I love, so I started helping in the organizing of Hot Club of Durham. I’m in behind-the-scenes part of Hot Club. You’ll see me as you come in to dance or behind the computer DJing.
I deejay for Hot Club and other local events, such as TSDS and Dance Blues Friday. I like fast music, music with soul, music that inspires you to do something different. I love music that makes you be silly and stop thinking about your feet. My main goal as a DJ is to get you to dance.
When I’m not dancing I’m teaching kids with Autism, hanging out with my dog, Ayla, and planning dances.
Beccy Aldrich
Beccy Aldrich started dancing like many other people: by being dragged to a swing club by a good friend. It took her a while to realize that dancing needed to be a big part of her life, but now she’s hopelessly hooked. Helping coordinate volunteers for Hot Club is the next step in Beccy’s master plan to quit “real” life and become involved in dancing full-time.
